Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden

In 2014, Vale Park Primary School joined the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program. Since then it has become a thriving and important part of the school curriculum.

The SAKG Program encourages students to develop positive and healthy food habits for life, while engaging in fun and educational sessions in the kitchen and garden. Students ranging from Reception to Year 6 attend fortnightly lessons in the kitchen and garden where they learn to plant, grow, harvest, cook and share the wonderful produce at Vale Park Primary School.

These Sessions provide a wonderful opportunity for staff and students to integrate classroom learning into the kitchen and garden environment. The dedicated support from volunteers and the school community has been instrumental to the continued success of the program.
