Governing Council
The Vale Park Governing Council is elected annually in accordance with it's Department for Education approved Constitution. The Governing Council is an incorporated body that is also responsible for Out of School Hours Care and the School Canteen. The Council comprises of up to 15 members – the Principal, 10 parent representatives and two staff representatives. We can also accomodate a representative from Walkerville Council and a representative from Vale Park Pre-school.
The Governing Council, together with the Principal, is responsible for the shared governance of the school and takes an active role in developing and monitoring the school's strategic directions, and development and improvement of school grounds and facilities.
Governing Council is supported by active committees including Finance, Fundraising, Buildings and Grounds, Sports, Canteen and Out of School Hours Care.
A Governing Council member sits on each committee and other interested parents are invited to nominate for these important committees early each year. A copy of the Constitution is available from the Principal.
Elections are held at the AGM that occurs sometime in Term 1 of each year. Nominations are called for through the school newsletter. Councillors are elected for a 2 year term.
